Latest Update Re: Resumption of Tours
Unfortunately, due to another wave of coronavirus infections here in Japan (the largest wave yet), we have made the difficult decision to cancel our upcoming Island Hopper Tour 2022 (October 16th to 29th). We have also decided to defer all fully escorted private tours until at least October 31st, 2022.
We have made this decision because we feel that with the current governmental guidelines placed on international travelers to Japan, we are not able to conduct tours freely or to a standard that we are happy with. Also, many of our small group tours include large festivals and events which may or may not go ahead as scheduled again this year due to sudden outbreaks of Covid-19 and the restrictions that inevitably follow.
For better or worse, the Japanese government is being very conservative with reopening its international borders to foreign tourists. Japan still remains closed to individual travelers, and we feel that the small number of tourists who can enter the country by joining a closely monitored group tour can not truly enjoy Japan with any real freedom.
We envisage a slow, phased approach to fully reopening to foreign tourists, which may not really ramp up until later this year.
If you would like to keep up to date with the latest news regarding Japan reopening to foreign tourists, please keep an eye on the following website. They provide in depth information and regular updates of the situation here in Japan.
Even though the future of free and open tourism in Japan still remains unclear, please know that our company is viable, and we plan to resume tours again beginning with our Shades of Autumn Tour 2022 in late November this year.
Like everyone, we are really hoping that things turn around quickly so we can get back to providing our customers with unique, fun filled tours of Japan as soon as possible!
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about our scheduled small group tours or fully escorted private tours of Japan.
